Karin Dalm on the JobAligner Work Happiness App

Since 2019, Riforce has been active in second-track reintegration, career coaching and outplacement. Our organization employs more than 70 people. As an organization, we place great importance on work happiness. We've set ourselves the goal of achieving a work happiness score of 8. For that, you need a good measurement tool. An annual paper-based survey doesn't fit Riforce.

Why JobAligner?

We were looking for something interactive, something that really fits us. We didn't just want to make work happiness important, but actually make it measurable. JobAligner offers an interactive model that fits our organization very well. Our managers recognize themselves in that approach. They really like that. And that's how we ended up with JobAligner. The big difference compared to the situation before JobAligner is that work happiness has now become visible. And not just on one main theme, but also on sub-themes. You make it measurable, and therefore also easy to discuss. That gives input to discuss a variety of themes that live within the organization.

Awareness at every level

What stands out to me is the effect on awareness. The questions get both managers and employees thinking. The Work Happiness App covers various themes that aren't always top of mind and therefore go undiscussed. And that's exactly what makes the Work Happiness App so valuable. It's a chance for everyone to attach a number to work happiness and make it measurable. And once you measure it, you can discuss it. It's a tool that invites people to think about themes that really matter.

Ease of use

If I have to give the app itself a score, I'd give it an 8. Through notifications on your phone, you can easily answer the periodic work happiness questions. The app is intuitive, and that suits me very well. You can do it on the side, and it doesn't take much time. What I also appreciate are the reminders. It sometimes slips your mind in the hustle of the day, and then you get a reminder a bit later. I find the frequency just right. And it always feels like a logical moment to pause and reflect on how things are going.

Conclusion

I fully stand behind the choice for JobAligner. We now have a method that lets us actually measure work happiness, meeting our own objective. It makes work happiness measurable, visible and easy to discuss. And it gets our people thinking about topics that matter. That's exactly what we needed!
